What your New Year resolution?

Is it it go on a diet and lose weight by this time next year? Is it to be a better citizen? What is your resolution for 2007?

My resolution for 2007 is to be the best Christian that I can be with the help of the Lord. I want to be closer to him this coming year than I ever have before! The Bible says in Psalm 73:28 "it is good for me to draw near to God". A great new years resolution for a lost person is to get saved and become a whole new creature. That would be amazing wouldn't it, to be a complete new person for the up coming year. I am really looking forward to what God is going to do in this up coming year!!!
The way the world is looking Christ's coming is very soon!! There is not that much time left for us here in this world. That is very exciting for the Christian, but very devistating for the lost world.
What is your resolution for 2007?

I am thine O Lord
I am thine , O Lord, I have heard thy voice
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drwan to Thee.
~~~~~~~~~
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious bleeding side.
~~~~~~~~~~
Consecrate me now to Thy service Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
~~~~~~~~~
Draw me nearer. nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious side.
Merry Christmas!
There is a good chance that I will not have the time to get back on here in the next couple of days. So, I wanted to take the time tonight to tell all my fellow bloggers "Merry Christmas" I wish that I had a picture of a manger scene instead of a tree, but I don't. I pray that all of y'all have most wonderful Christmas!! Enjoy being around your family and eating all the Christmas sweets. Never forget the real reason for Christmas.......Jesus Christ!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
So, so busy!
Well.....where oh where shall I begin. There is a whole lot that we have been doing so I will just go through a few starting on Saturday.
Saturday was our church Christmas party here at the house. There was just so much cooking and other things that needed to be done that day, but with plenty of help from my Aunt and our youth leaders wife....it all got done in time! The party went really well....we had a blast! We played a game or two, everyone seemed to have a really good time.
Monday (yesterday) we (as in my mother and I) went Christmas shopping for the family. I was the only one that could go with my mother due to the fact that I know all of my gifts. No, no...I did not peek, I picked them out!! The items that I wanted had to be picked out by me because my momma would have never remembered what it was. :) After 4 long hours of shopping we went home and wrapped all the gifts....which in itself took a good deal of time. When my brother came home from work last night he asked my mom to do some more shopping....except for this time it was HIS shopping that she was doing. So....me being that one that knows what I am getting was told to come along again.......at 9:00 p.m!!!! We were at the store for 2 hours this time. We got home shortly after 11:00 and started to wrap gifts once more. Let's say it was just a late night!!!! :)
Today we went to my Grandmothers house to help with the Christmas baking. I was supposed to help, but I ended up with a really bad headache after we got there. Grandma had plenty of help though, Momma, Michelle, and my Aunt Latisha. There was alot that got done tonight.
Well....that sums up the past few days of my life! How was your weekend?
A prayer request...
Our youth leader and his wife have been fostering two little girls Savannah and Kassidy for 9 months. They have had Kassidy since she was born. They went to court about them yesterday and they were reunified with their momma yesterday afternoon. Bro.Tim and Sis. Crystal are doing okay, but they still need our prayers.
It's just around the corner...
Christmas is just around the corner. People are buying gifts for their loved ones, they are baking cookies for Christmas Eve. They have decorated their house with the lights and put the tree up, but what is their real reason for this season? Is it to tell the kids that Santa is going to bring them presents if they were good little boys and girls? Is it just another holiday to eat a huge meal and watch football? What is the real reason for this Christmas season?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About 2,000 years ago a star appeared in the sky to let the world know that at a stable in Bethlehem a baby was born. Not just a baby, but the Son of God. He was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger because there was no room for them in the Inn. This is the real reason for this season....the Saviour was born. He was not born on Christmas day, no body knows when he was born. But that is the day that we celebrate His birth.

"Consider your ways"

" Haggai 1:7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. "

I read this the other day and it got me to thinking. Do we ever stop to think and examine the way that we live or act? We need to examine ourselves and see if we are living the way a Christian should live. If we are living the right way, is it genuine, is it for real or are you just playing the Christians part.
Have we ever considered the ways of our heart? Consider your motives, your attitude and your relationship with God. I got to thinking about motives, what are our motives behind things that concern church? When we do things in or for the church as far as teaching a class, singing a special or going on visitation. What is our motive? Is it just a duty that you have or are you doing it to gain recognition or are you doing it to serve God? Did you ever start something with the motive of serving God, but then it turned into a duty that you HAD to get done? I am guilty on this....there have been times where I just did it because it would make me look good. Then there were times that I started it because I wanted to serve, then it turned into a duty.
What about our attitudes toward the things in the church? I am using myself for an example here. "Ugh, it's my turn in the nursery again!" or "Man, I have to clean the church again." My attitude at times has been a big hindrance in my relationship with the Lord. I have sour attitudes sometimes toward the things of serving God and I should have been glad for the opportunity to serve God again by cleaning the church or being in the nursery. Our attitudes should be considered just as much as anything else.
We need to consider our relationship with God. Has it gotten cold? Have you gotten away from God? We should all consider this part of ourselves everyday. It is better to make sure that you are in tune with God than to let our motives and attitudes get in the way and keep us from Him. Consider your ways.

Only 24 days until.......

CHRISTMAS!!!!
I can't wait for Christmas! I love this time of the year. People are so cheery and happy. The most important part of this time of year for me is not only Jesus' birth, but getting together with all the family and talking about all the good times we have had. We will all be together this year, with an exception for my Uncle Chris who is over in Iraq right now. Some one from his unit was killed the other day. We are all really scared for my Uncle. He will be doing missions every week and they will be very dangerous missions. He is lost! We are praying that someone will be other there with him that is a Christian that will witness to him. He has a 20 month old little girl at home. It would be devistating if something happened to him. Please pray for him!!!!!!
Last night my mom, sister and myself sat down and played a game. Before we knew it we were laughing so hard because Michelle was just being......well.....goofy!!! She was just being goofy! She had us laughing so hard. I needed the laugh, I had not been feeling good yesterday and it felt really good to laugh like that. By the time the game was over I was so hyped that at midnight last night I was cleaning and rearranging my room. I did not get done until about 1 am this morning. I finally got tuckered out!! LOL!! Well...I need to get off of here and get me something to eat!! I'm starved!! Hehehe! Good day to ya all!
