It's just around the corner...

Christmas is just around the corner. People are buying gifts for their loved ones, they are baking cookies for Christmas Eve. They have decorated their house with the lights and put the tree up, but what is their real reason for this season? Is it to tell the kids that Santa is going to bring them presents if they were good little boys and girls? Is it just another holiday to eat a huge meal and watch football? What is the real reason for this Christmas season?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About 2,000 years ago a star appeared in the sky to let the world know that at a stable in Bethlehem a baby was born. Not just a baby, but the Son of God. He was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger because there was no room for them in the Inn. This is the real reason for this season....the Saviour was born. He was not born on Christmas day, no body knows when he was born. But that is the day that we celebrate His birth.
Amen!! Good post Kris!! This is the message we need to pass down to our kids....not the blasphemous message of Santa Claus. God help us to always keep our focus on the TRUE reason for this season...the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in His birth and all that He did for us when He died on that cross over 2000 years ago.
I'm afraid that many Christians don't see the dangers of allowing "Santa" to be a part of their Christmas. The more we do that, the less Jesus remains a part of our Christmas'!
