The youth department.

The pictures below are of Me, Marcy and Michelle. I tried to get all of the youth group, but Ronnie would not cooperate for the picture. The other girl had to work on Sunday. So we have 5 teens at our church. I know it is not large, but God has blessed us with what we have. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Here are some pictures of us girls at church.  Posted by Picasa

"Obedience and Honor."

1. We are to obey our parents.
Ephesians 6:1
CHILDREN, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

When parents tell their kids to do something, they say "yes sir" or "yes ma'am" and never do it. I have been guilty of this on several occasions. When parents tell you to do something the response is to get up and do it. When we obey we need to do it with a willing and joyful heart, not a hateful and spiteful heart. The results of obedience is in verse 3b. ...and thou mayest live long on the earth. So when you are obedient remember, that is years to your life.

2. We are to honor our parents.
Ephesians 6:2
Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

To honor your parents is to respect them. Respect is something that most of todays kids don't have toward their parents. You sometimes may not agree with your parents decisions, but you should still have respect for your parents.
So remember to always OBEY and HONOR your parents. If you are having trouble in those areas, just pray daily for help in those areas and you will find that it does get easier to do day by day.

God is Faithful

I corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
I am so glad that God is faithful!! He is faithful in supplying our needs and some times our wants. God is faithful to deliver us out of trials and valleys that we go through. He will always be faithful to you. The question is will you be faithful to him?? I am trying my best to remain faithful to the Lord. So pray that I will continue to do that. I am sorry that my posts are so short. I think I have a block on going any longer than a few lines.

"Things Worth Dying For."

Here is a outline of a message my Dad preached last year.

"Things Worth Dying For."
Mark 6:14-17

I. I would die for,
a) the Bible.
b) my testimony.
c) Jesus Christ.
II. The reason I'd die for the Bible,
a) is because it's personal.
b) is because it's powerful.
c) is because it's precious.
III. The reason I'd die for my testimony,
a) is because of God's guarantee.
b) is because of God's gain.
c) is because of it bringing God glory.
IV. The reason I'd die for Christ,
a) is because of our measure of love.
b) is because of our measure of submission.
c) is because of our measure of commitment.

A Uneventful Day.

Today has been a real slow day. There is not much going on. I am doing my laundry and watching my cousin. When a day goes really slow I am really tired and I want to do nothing but lay around! I am trying not to do that today. I am really hoping that the next 3 weeks go by really fast, that way I will be on my way to campmeeting!!! August 8th-12th Bro. Sammy Allan is having Campmeeting. I love going to campmeeting. He has them 3 times a year and we try our best to make it to everyone of them. I feel horrible if I miss one day. I have gotten a lot of help from the campmeetings. Anyway, I hope your day has been more eventful than mine. God Bless!

In Awe Of God.

I was reading in Psalm 33 last night and the last part of verse 8 caught my attention.
...let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
That is something that caught my eye. Not many Christians stand in awe of God. Awe means to wonder. We need to wonder about all God is and does!!! I stand in awe of how he created the world and man, how he saved my soul. There are a lot of things we could stand in awe of. I know that this is not long, but it is a thought that caome through my head while I was reading. I hope you get what I got from it!

Are you sure you know??

It is amazing how little we know!!! I took a test that came through my email. It was about the normal stuff that we have known all of our lives practically. I only got 15 out of 25 questions. I was surprised that I did not know them all! It was simple stuff like " Is the top stripe on the flag red or white? " Thankfully I got that one right. But it made me realize that if I know that little about stuff like that, imagine how much we really know about the Bible!!! We need to get in the Bible a lot more and study God's word. I know that I need to do a lot better in that department. Pray that I will be a student of the word and that I would never get out of it!!!

"How To Speak To People"

" I came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God." I Corinthians 2:1b
" I could not speak unto you as unto spiritual" I Corinthians 3:1a

Notice how politicians speak. They speak so that men will put their faith in them and vote for them. Paul did not speak as a politician, seeking to win a popularity contest. Paul is our example. How did Paul speak so that men would put their faith in God? It depended on the audience.
1. How to peak to the Lost: Paul spoke to the lost about the testimony of God (the gospel). "...declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I am determind not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." (I Corinthians 2:1b-2) We must speak plainly to those who are lost. Our main concern for the lost is- Do you know Christ crucified?
2. How to speak to the Spiritual: Paul spoke to spiritual Christians about the meat of God's word. For a church to mature, they need more than simple gospel (milk). Thye need also to know God's plan for them after they are saved (meat).
3. How to speak to Carnal: "And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ." The longer a person is saved, the more spiritually mature he should become. It is one thing to grow old in the Lord; it is another thing to grow up in the Lord (Eph 4:15). A carnal Christian is a spiritual baby. Spiritual maturity is dependant upon a spiritual diet (I Peter 2:2 and Matt. 4:4).

Yucky Weather

The weather here has been really yucky! We are supposed to have rain the rest of this week. Hurricane Dennis did not do a lot when it hit us. We just got slight winds and a lot of rain. We were expecting more than that. We were looking for it to get really bad,but it never got to that point! I am doing better as far as my cold goes. I sound a lot better!! It killed me not to be able to talk that much!! For all of you that know me know that I like to talk...A LOT!! Well...anyway! Pray for us...Wednesday will be the last day that we will have a piano player in the church. Ronnie was the only one who knows how to play. He will be leaving Friday to go with the group that he is going to be playing and singing for. So pray that God will send someone in who knows how to play the piano! So from now on until God sends someone in we will be singing everything acapela!! It is going to be interresting. Our song leader is not really looking forward to that!! Just please pray for Eagles View Baptist Church.

11 Years Today!!

Today 11 years ago I was saved!! I was saved at the age of 5. It was during NBT which is similar to VBS. I am thankful that I am saved. If God had not put a lady into my mom's life and invited her to church, I would not be saved today. My family would no longer be together. I am thankful that God can take all our family went through and turn it around. Thank God for saving sinners!!!!!!

A Baby on the way!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know so that they could be praying. My friend Robbyn ( our friend that we have adopted as a sister) is on her way to the hospital to have her baby. There is a concern though. Aaron is gonna be 4 weeks early and his lungs are not fully developed yet. They went last night to the hospital and they stopped the labor. But Aaron is being persistant and wants to meet his Mommy, Daddy and big brother. So please pray for Robbyn ( mommy ) Eric ( Daddy ) and J ( big brother ). And pray for Aaron Parks Way. Pray that he will be born a healthy baby and be a great joy to his family!! So I am gonna be a Aunt so to speak!! Please pray!!

Stormy Weather

Last night we had some really bad storms. There were tonado warnings everywhere. The sky was all kinds of different colors, really dark colors. This is all a result of Tropical Depression Cindy. In the next few days we will have to deal with Hurricane Dennis. I am not looking forward to that one! I really don't like storms at all. I am one of those who does not sleep till a storm is gone!! I am a little under the weather today!! My mom gave me her cold. So I am really stopped up. On The forth I had a stomic virus that a friend of mine gave me! Sweet of her huh?? So I was not able to eat all the stuff that I had planned on eating. I had a little bit of Mac Salad. But I am over that and now I have this cold that my dear mother gave me! Oh well! Today we are supposed to get more rain and more storms. Pray that we will be safe till the storm passes by.

When the long night has ended
and the storms come no more
Let me stand in thy presence
On that bright peaceful shore
In that land where the tempest
Never comes Lord may I
Dwell with Thee
When the storm passes by.

Till the storm passes over
Till the thunder sounds no more
Till the clouds roll forever
From the sky
Hold me fast let me stand
In the hallow of thy hand
Keep me safe
Till the storm passes by.

A Great Campmeeting

Campmeeting last week was wonderful!!! Last night especially. There were 4 saved last night and a young man surrendered to a call to preach. The messages all week have been great. I enjoyed myself. We have been going to this campmeeting for 10 years. It ha always helped me. This week I got a lot of help. There were a lot of messages directed toward teenagers. If any of you would like to listen to the messages that were preached this week and the specials from this week you can go to the camp website. www.faithbaptistcamp.org They also have video. I pray that if you go to the site and listen to the messages that you will get a blessing out of it!
