There's Too Much Hitting, Cutting, and Piercing Going On.

Let me say first off that this post is not aimed towards anyone. I know there are people who are going to read this and think that, but it's not. It was something that the Lord gave me while I was doing some of my reading and studying. I had never taken the time to look at this verse quite like this before, I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Proverbs 25:18
A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

Maul (Hammer or Mallet)
Sword
Sharp Arrow
= GOSSIP AND LYING

Gossip and lying in this verse is compared to hitting with a hammer, cutting of a sword and piercing with sharp arrows. As far as I know, these are all very painful things when done to a human being. Not a very pleasant experience I can assure you. Getting hit, cut or pierced by just ONE of these would be painful enough, but if you go back and read that verse again you will see that it says a man that bears false witness against his neighbour (by the way, EVERYONE is your neighbour) is a maul AND a sword AND a sharp arrow.
So when you are out there gossiping and lying about someone you are beating, cutting and piercing them all at the same time with your words. How painful and hurtful it is for that person being gossiped and lied about.
Most of the time we say that it's okay, that person will be okay, they'll get over it. It may seem that way to you, and they may even tell you they're fine once they hear what has been said and who all it was said to, but deep inside they are beat up and cut to pieces over what has been said.
Gossip and lying are very, very, very hurtful things and are very wrong. Gossip and lying has destroyed many relationships, both family and friends.

Oh God, help us to all to not gossip and lie!

"But God"

Romans 3:10- As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:14-18- Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Romans 3:23- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death...

Romans 5:8- BUT GOD commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 2:4-5- BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Eve when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved;)

Josh and I were talking about our testimonies and other peoples testimonies, where they'd come from, when and how they got saved. As we talked about it Eph. 2:4-5 popped into my mind and I couldn't help but remembering where my family was and what direction we were headed in, we were possibly only weeks away from my parents being divorced and my siblings and I having to share weekends with our parents...BUT GOD!

Ephesians 2:4-5
BUT GOD, who is rich in MERCY, for his GREAT LOVE wherewith he loved US, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by GRACE ye are SAVED;)

Never forget where you would be if it hadn't been for God!

We Have Internet

I am so thankful to FINALLY have internet again! We got our internet through Verizon and I must say I am impressed as to how good it works and how quick it is. I love it! I will be doing a lengthier post later...right now I have dinner going while the hubby cuts the grass.

Have a blessed Labor Day!

Busy, busy, busy!

Okay...so I know it's been a while since I have posted anything, I never knew that getting ready for a wedding was SO time consuming! Wow! It's been soooo busy, I really don't even know where to start! =o) Thankfully we're gonna be done with all the getting ready and all the planning in just 11 short days...well almost 10! It's hard to believe that the time has gone by so quickly and that in just 10 days I will be married to the most wonderful man in all the world. God sure has been good!!! This will probably be my last post until after the wedding. I will get back on here and post as soon as I find the time. I hope to get pictures of the inside of the house posted once I'm able to get it all unpacked after we get back from the honeymoon. Well...I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!!! See y'all in a while!

Memorial Day and Pictures

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
I wanted to take this time to thank all of you who have served, do serve, and will serve to preserve our country's freedom!

I will be spending my memorial day with Josh and my soon-to-be In-laws. Both my parents have to work and will be pretty much all day...so to save me from being by myself all day my wonderful Husband-to-be said they could come pick me up and spend the day with me!

Here are some pictures that we took a couple of weeks ago...I've not had the time to post anything until today. Enjoy!!!

Pictures of "Our House"...FINALLY!

Yesterday was the first opportunity for me to get pictures of mine and Josh's house. These are just of the outside, the inside is still being worked on. I will post inside pictures when it's all finished.

The front of the house. Please excuse all the weeds everywhere, we haven't had the chance to do anything about all that stuff yet.

The back of the house...again, excuse the weeds.

The driveway facing the road. I LOVE it, it's so pretty!!!

The lake in the back yard. The halfway point of our property is where you see that storage building behind the lake. We have a total of 3 acres.

The water is REALLY murky and yellow from all the rain and pollen, but if you can see them there are two catfish at the surface of the water.

A little friend that was on the back deck of the house...isn't he pretty!

The view from the back deck off the kitchen.

View from the back deck off the master bedroom.

The view from our front porch! Isn't it pretty and peaceful!

I fell in LOVE with the dogwood and azeleas, I thought it was so beautiful!!!

A New Look For Josh

"OUR PHONE CONVERSATION"

Josh: I've got a surprise for you.

Me: A surprise...tell me!!!

Josh: No, I won't tell but you can guess.

Me: Give me a hint.

Josh: It's something different about me.

Me: YOU SHAVED YOUR GOATEE OFF!!!

Josh: Yes, I knicked it while I was trimming it, and it was either leave it looking goofy or shave it off. So I shaved it off.

Me: I can't WAIT to see it!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Josh and I had talked about his facial hair before and whether I liked it or not. I told him that I did, but I would like to see what he would look like without it, but I told him that he could keep it because I like his goatee. Well....now that I have seen him without his goatee. =o) Josh asked me which one I preferred. I told him that I liked the "no-goatee" better, but that he could still make his own choice as to which one he wanted because after all....it's his face! He said he is going to stay "goatee free" until winter time. So, Hello Winter means Hello Goatee!! LOL
