Kloe Update

Kloe is growing day by day and is such a sweet happy baby. She is so full of smiles and cooing, that makes for a happy mommy! Kloe is now over 11 lbs at just a month and a half. I would share a updated picture, but I haven't gotten one. I know, horrible mommy not getting pictures of my baby girl. :o(

I am still catching naps here and there when Kloe sleeps. She has only slept through the night once and I'm really hoping she will do that again here really soon! LOL

I will post a picture as soon as I get one. I promise!!!

Neither of my kids slept through the night till at least 4 months. They were breast fed and when they ate they were up. Babies usually settle down as they get older.

Hey Kristina! Congratulations! Our babies are just a couple weeks a part. Babies need to get about 30% of their nutrition at night, and so they need to wake up to feed, which is why they don't sleep through the night - it's all God's perfect design. And in medical terms, "Sleeping Through The Night" for a baby the age of our babies is only five hours.

Sleeping when the baby sleeps is the best thing! As is having your baby sleep in your room, if she isn't already. Having to go to another room to get your baby for night time feedings just ads to the exhaustion and wakes you up more. Our baby sleeps in a little bassinet right beside our bed, when he wakes, I just have to sit up to get him - don't even need to get out of bed! I nurse him lying down, and doze while he's feeding, and then put him back in his bed when he is done. This really mitigates the sleep disruption.
A book that we found really helpful when we had our first child was "Christian Parenting" by Dr. William Sears. You should pick it up, or see if it is in your local library. It is well worth it! http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Book-Christian-Parenting-Child/dp/0805461981/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1289011541&sr=8-5

Well good luck with that! They'll sleep through the night when they are ready...if they ever are. ;) I'm 22 and still don't sleep through the night! Hehe.

I don't know if you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding, but babies, especially at this age, need to eat a lot! It can be hard, but that is just how God made them. Most babies usually go through a growth spurt at around 6-8 weeks and they need to eat more often. You might be experiencing this. The whole first year is full of finally getting on a schedule, only to have it change when the baby hits a growth spurt!

I know that I always got advice to feed them cereal, but, if you do get that advice, as tempting as it is, please research the dangers of doing so and talk to your pediatrician about it.

Of course, I'm sure you are a great mom who is doing a lot of research, but I just remember when I was a young mom and constantly being bombarded with dangerous and out of date advice and how confusing it all was.

God bless!
