Sick, sick, sick of being sick!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a little while. After going to two Drs and getting no answers I ended up in the ER last Tuesday evening wanting to know what in the world was wrong with me. After having four throat swabs (strep, mono, H1N1 and some other one), a nasal swab (influenza test), a chest x-ray and blood work.....they came to the conclusion.....I HAVE MONO! Yuck!

So, I haven't really felt much like posting anything. I'm not really looking forward to having to deal with the effects of this stuff for the next two to six weeks. From what I have read, it can take up to six months to even start feeling like your normal self. That is not a very fun thing to look forward to. The amazing thing, Josh doesn't have it! We got him tested as well and the Dr. said that there is a possibility that he built up an immunity to it when I first started coming down with it...and that is how he escaped it. The Dr did say that he has bronchitis.

Kristina,

Sorry to hear that. I had mono in college and unfortunately, it does take a while to shake. Take care of yourself and be sure to get plenty of rest and Vitamin C. Is your family closeby to help out if needed?

Sorry to hear that you have MONO. I had it in high school and it was not pleasant.

Try adding some vitamin D to all the other meds.

Praying that you get to feeling better soon.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had mono when I was 17 and it took me a very, very long time to get over it. It really weakened my immune system and I got sick constantly for years after I had it. I hope you feel better!

Oh Kristina I am so sorry you are so sick. I have never had mono so I don't know what that is like. If you want to take vitamin C I would recommend taking EmergenC. It is a raspberry powder you mix in water but I use juice. I prefer cranberryapple juice to mix it in. It tastes really good and provides 1000 grams of Vit C plus other vitamins and minerals. Good luck and I will be praying for your quick recovery.
Oh and I hope Josh feels better soon too.

Hey Kristian,

I had mono last year. Please be very careful and don´t exhaust yourself. Stay at home and relax as much as possible.
And don´t take any painkillers because your liver is already overworked!
If you interested I name you some alternativ medicines which helped me a lot (but I don´t know if you´ll get them in USA).

I´ll pray for your health (I hope this is okay for you because I´m a muslim?).
Take care,
Dilara

Sorry you're under the weather. My son had mono when he was 12, it was a long recovery. I hope you take good care of yourself and don't over exert yourself either. Take your meds and get a lot of rest.

Hope you feel better soon! I had Mono 2 years ago and it took about 3 months before I felt like "me" again. Get plenty of rest. That really was the only thing that helped me. I always felt a bit better after a long nap. I will pray for you!
