A HUGE Surprise

Monday night my sister, dad, and I were sitting in the living room when my mom's cell phone rang upstairs. Next thing we knew my mom came down the stairs and looked out the door and screamed!! Scared all of us that did not know what was going on to death! I was the first one that ran to the door to see what Momma was screaming at....as I looked in the driveway I saw something I never expected to see. Bro. Tim and Sis. Crystal were in our driveway!!! They said that they wanted to spend some time with us...so they drove up and surprised us with a visit. Such a sweet thing they did!!!

They are coming over again tonight and I am not sure if we will play board games or just talk the whole time, but there is always TONS to talk about.

A New Look.

I figured it was about time to do something new with my site. So, my mom was looking at these layouts and she was not going to try to put one on her site, so I volunteered. I like what I see! How about you? Let me know! Also, let me know if there are any problems reading my posts due to the background and I will fix it.

Guess who's posting?!?!?

That's right...I'm typing a post! I know, I know, I'm shocking myself. But, Bro. Tim told me that I needed to put a post on here, so this post is for you Bro. Tim. :oP I am excited today because a friend of mine was saved last night!!! It was someone I would have never have guessed to be lost, this girl was faithful to church, sang in the choir, and was an example to the girls in the youth group. It was a shock to me. That just lets you know that you never know how many people around you are lost. That is why it is so important to have a godly testimony and live a godly life, you never know who is lost around you. There were a total of three saved in the youth last night!

We have been kinda busy over the last couple of weeks, and it isn't showing signs of slowing down anytime in the near future. This Saturday we have a baby shower for my Aunt, and our church has a singing this Saturday night with the McKamey's and the choir will be singing. I am really looking forward to it. Then this Sunday is Homecoming at the church...there will be dinner on the grounds and tons of fellowship.

Next week is Faith Baptist Camp's August meeting and as of right now we will not be able to attend. This will be the first August meeting that we have missed..normally we get to make it at least a couple of days, but it's not looking like we will be able to do that. I am going to hate missing it, but I know that God knows what He is doing, and that He has a reason why we aren't going to make it.

Well.....God is good, His grace is plenteous, and His love is everlasting!!! Everyone have a good weekend!!

Back from Youth Camp!

I had an awesome week at the youth camp! I rode to the camp with White Oak Springs Baptist Church, they were nice enough to let me ride their bus! :o) Anyway, the preaching was great!!! We got there Monday about lunch time and left Friday about the same time. The preaching was done by Bro. Wayne Owenby, Bro. Rick Simpson, Bro. Ballew, and Bro. Stacy Pearcy. The messages were right on target all week. It was a blessing! Here are some pictures of the week.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what some of my week was like...it was so full of laughing and I have tons of stories to tell!! I guess I could share one with you now. Okay...here is goes.

I had gone ALL week without anything embarrassing happening to me. I knew that something was going to happen before I was to leave to go home. Well...Thursday it was time to break for lunch and I saw Kelly and Matt about 15 to 20 feet away from me. I wanted to scare Kelly...so I started to run so I could grab her by the shoulders and give her a good scare. I ran and I did grab her by the shoulders, but she turned sideways and when she turned sideways it cause me to turn with her. That would have been okay had I not still been running! Well...I FELL!!! Everyone laughed so hard!!! There were about 30 to 40 teenagers that saw me fall. Once we all gain our composure Matt turned and looked at me and simply asked "Did you have a nice trip?". So I had my embarrassing moment of the week! Oh me...what a week!!!

An Absolutely Awesome Week

This week has just been wonderful!! There was a youth meeting that was being hosted by our church, and oh what a blessing it was. I got so much help and encouragement from the preaching. It only went from Monday-Wednesday....what a bummer! Yesterday everyone was asking me what was up because I was just acting so happy! I was just completely overjoyed and bubbly and happy! :o)

This week coming up my mom and I will be at campmeeting. We praise the Lord that we are even able to go, at first there was no way we were going to be able to go because of our unexpected trip to MS, but the Lord provided at a revival meeting the other night. Someone gave us the money and told us that it was to be used to get us to camp and back.

Then the next week I will be going to a youth camp. I am so excited to be going to all these meetings three weeks in a row! I just love being around the singing and the preaching! I am so so so excited!!!

I pray everyone has a good week and hopefully I will be able to post on next Saturday how the week at campmeeting went.

We're Home

We made it home around11:30 last night. The family is handling this a whole lot better than I thought they would. None of this really hit any of us until we went and saw the house. I had never met my Uncle, so at first I just couldn't cry about all this, but when I saw the house and it really hit me that this REALLY happened...I broke. My Grandparents won't let it show that this is bothering them, they are trying to be strong for my Mom and her sister.

When we went through my Uncle's stuff there were some things we were able to get from in the house that did not get burnt. So we do have some keepsakes.

Despite the circumstances we did have a good time talking and hanging out with the family. I got to see my Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, and cousin for the first time in 4 years. We did get some pictures, and I will post them as soon as Jessica gets them to me!

Update...

We have gotten some updates about what is going on. As it turns out, he was not shot but stabbed. You can read about it here. There is also a video that you can watch over to the right.

Thank you for all of the prayer!!! We appreciate them so much, please continue to pray for us as we travel tomorrow.

Urgent Prayer Request!!!

I would like everyone to please pray for our family right now. We just got a phone call and found out that my Mom's brother was killed last night. His house was burnt down to the ground and my Uncle was found in a ditch behind the house and they believe he was shot. They are counting this as a homicide and they have a suspect in custody. My Uncle was lost, so please, please pray for our family...this is a really hard time for us right now. We will probably be heading to Mississippi in the next day or so.

My Mom's parents are lost, so pray that the Lord uses this to bring them to him!

Awanas

I got to be involved with the Awanas at our church last night. My mom was not feeling well, so while she stayed home we had the opportunity to go to our home church on a Wednesday. I love being apart of the Awanas and working with the kids! I enjoyed it so much! I was with the older bit of kids...like 3rd-6th I think. They were so much fun. Lord willing, I will be able to go every Wednesday night and be able to be faithful with it...someone has offered to give me a ride to church and home on Wednesdays.

This summer they will have different themes each week, with a different lesson to go with each theme. I am really looking forward to being apart of this!

It Is Well

I was reading this morning in II Kings where Elisha promised a woman and her husband a son, and then years later..the boy died. When she ran to fetch Elisha, he asked her if all was well...and she responded "It is well". With all that had just happened, she had lost her son and she still replied that it was well. Even though it seemed like her world was coming to an end, in her soul...all was well.

I want to be able to say that with everything that I go through no matter what it may be, I can say "It is well". Praise God for his sweet, sweet peace!!!

Absent Again!

I know...I know...I vanished again. But there has been a WHOLE lot going on! On the 16th we had my Dad's surprise 40th Birthday party, and that was a blast! There were so many people in my grandparents house, we could barely move. Then on the 22nd we had Ronnie and Jessica over for cake and ice cream for Michelle's 18th. Then the 23rd was Michelle's 18th birthday and the day that she moved out of the home. She is already doing things that she knows is wrong. Please pray for her, she really needs it. And please pray for my parents, this is hard on them. Just please pray for our family, we are going through some tough times. Thanks to all of you who have been, it is greatly appreciated!
