A prayer request...

Our youth leader and his wife have been fostering two little girls Savannah and Kassidy for 9 months. They have had Kassidy since she was born. They went to court about them yesterday and they were reunified with their momma yesterday afternoon. Bro.Tim and Sis. Crystal are doing okay, but they still need our prayers.

It's just around the corner...

Christmas is just around the corner. People are buying gifts for their loved ones, they are baking cookies for Christmas Eve. They have decorated their house with the lights and put the tree up, but what is their real reason for this season? Is it to tell the kids that Santa is going to bring them presents if they were good little boys and girls? Is it just another holiday to eat a huge meal and watch football? What is the real reason for this Christmas season?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About 2,000 years ago a star appeared in the sky to let the world know that at a stable in Bethlehem a baby was born. Not just a baby, but the Son of God. He was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger because there was no room for them in the Inn. This is the real reason for this season....the Saviour was born. He was not born on Christmas day, no body knows when he was born. But that is the day that we celebrate His birth.
"Consider your ways"
" Haggai 1:7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. "
I read this the other day and it got me to thinking. Do we ever stop to think and examine the way that we live or act? We need to examine ourselves and see if we are living the way a Christian should live. If we are living the right way, is it genuine, is it for real or are you just playing the Christians part.
Have we ever considered the ways of our heart? Consider your motives, your attitude and your relationship with God. I got to thinking about motives, what are our motives behind things that concern church? When we do things in or for the church as far as teaching a class, singing a special or going on visitation. What is our motive? Is it just a duty that you have or are you doing it to gain recognition or are you doing it to serve God? Did you ever start something with the motive of serving God, but then it turned into a duty that you HAD to get done? I am guilty on this....there have been times where I just did it because it would make me look good. Then there were times that I started it because I wanted to serve, then it turned into a duty.
What about our attitudes toward the things in the church? I am using myself for an example here. "Ugh, it's my turn in the nursery again!" or "Man, I have to clean the church again." My attitude at times has been a big hindrance in my relationship with the Lord. I have sour attitudes sometimes toward the things of serving God and I should have been glad for the opportunity to serve God again by cleaning the church or being in the nursery. Our attitudes should be considered just as much as anything else.
We need to consider our relationship with God. Has it gotten cold? Have you gotten away from God? We should all consider this part of ourselves everyday. It is better to make sure that you are in tune with God than to let our motives and attitudes get in the way and keep us from Him. Consider your ways.
Only 24 days until.......
CHRISTMAS!!!!
I can't wait for Christmas! I love this time of the year. People are so cheery and happy. The most important part of this time of year for me is not only Jesus' birth, but getting together with all the family and talking about all the good times we have had. We will all be together this year, with an exception for my Uncle Chris who is over in Iraq right now. Some one from his unit was killed the other day. We are all really scared for my Uncle. He will be doing missions every week and they will be very dangerous missions. He is lost! We are praying that someone will be other there with him that is a Christian that will witness to him. He has a 20 month old little girl at home. It would be devistating if something happened to him. Please pray for him!!!!!!
Last night my mom, sister and myself sat down and played a game. Before we knew it we were laughing so hard because Michelle was just being......well.....goofy!!! She was just being goofy! She had us laughing so hard. I needed the laugh, I had not been feeling good yesterday and it felt really good to laugh like that. By the time the game was over I was so hyped that at midnight last night I was cleaning and rearranging my room. I did not get done until about 1 am this morning. I finally got tuckered out!! LOL!! Well...I need to get off of here and get me something to eat!! I'm starved!! Hehehe! Good day to ya all!
I'm back!
Hey Everyone. We got back from camp on Saturday at about 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. I really enjoyed going to camp and hearing the awesome preaching and singing. Bro. Ballew preached a series on the home in the morning services. Although I am not married, I learned alot through those messeges. I also enjoyed getting to see all my friends and their families. I met a few new friends. I seem to meet more and more everytime I go!!! :)
A friend of mine started a photo blog not to long ago and I am thinking about getting one of those so that I don't have to put them on here. I will let you know if I decided to do that or not.
I got to see Courtney last week and I want to tell her that I miss her A LOT! I had a great time spending time with you!!
Have a good day!!
Home for thanksgiving then back to camp!!
Hey all!! We came home today to be with family for thanksgiving and we will leave either tomorrow night or Friday to go back to campmeeting. It was so good those days that we did get to be there. We heard some great messeges and enjoyed some wonderful times of fellowship with our friends. My list of camp friends just seem to be getting bigger each time I go it seems like!!! To hear some of the messeges preached this week you can go to Faith Baptist Camp's website.
I hope that all of you enjoy a WONDERFUL thanksgiving. There are so many things that I can be thankful for this year. I have a wonderful family, I have a preacher for a daddy, I've never gone hungry and I am saved!!!! There are many, many more, but the list would be never ending. Pray for us as we travel back to camp.......have a great thanksgiving!!!!!!
As you may have noticed.....
I have made some changes on my blog. There is a new layout, new colors, new chat box....stuff like that. I like this beta version, my mom said that she doesn't. I think she is adjusting to it though. She figured out how to add stuff to it!! Hehehe!!
My mother and I will be leaving to go to Resaca in 2 days!! I am so excited! Once again....I have not started packing yet....but that is the usual with me, I am normally up packing the night before.
Tomorrow I will be going over to my Grandparents house to help my Grandmother clean for Thanksgiving. It is so hard to believe that it is already that time of year! Time flies by so fast that you barely see it as it does.
Guess what.......the weather is better today!! I am so glad, yesterday was just as cloudy as the day before. Today the sun is shinning...still cold, but the sun is shinning! Well...I gotta run....I have to go somewhere with Momma. Have a good day!
Rainy, rainy day!
As I look out the window I see rain and gloominess. It's cold and wet, but I am cheery today. Normally I am just as gloomy as the day is, but today is different. I have something that I am looking forward to and that I need to get ready to do. In 4 days we will be leaving to go to Faith Baptist Camp in Resaca Ga. We did not know that we would be going until yesterday. When I heard I was so glad that we were gonna be able to. I enjoy the preaching and the fellowship with friends that we have met there through the years, one of the bring Courtney of Courtney's Contemplations and her family.
Pray for us today...we are supposed to get some really bad weather with threats of hail, high winds and tornadoes. I for one do not like storm at ALL. My mother on the other hand loves them, they fascinate her! For the life of me I don't understand that. Hehehe!
Tomorrow we are going to make a trip to Newnan for Michelle to see her surgen for a check-up, then we are heading to our dental appointments. After that we are going to make a visit to one of our shut-ins in our church. Then tomorrow night Jessica will be coming over to spend time with her sweety as Momma calls him. Jessica would say her WONDERFUL, HANDSOME, AWESOME Fiance. We always look forward to Thursday nights when she can come over. Well....that is pretty much it!
"My Buckler"
I was reading in Psalms yesterday and I came across this verse and it was a good reminder to me of what my God is.
Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
I got out our Strongs Concordence and I looked up the word "buckler".....I was interested in what all the word meant. When I got to reading I just smiled to myself.
The word buckler means- A protector, a sheild.
There have been times that God has protected us from car wrecks just by making us have to run back in the house to grab something we forgot. There was one time that we thought that Sonic had forgotten Momma's chicken sandwich, so we pulled over to check and see if it was there....it was! When we were on the way home we came upon a 3 car wreck that had just happened prior to us getting to that point. God allowed us to check for a sandwich that had been there so that we could be spared from a really bad wreck. I can't thank God enough that he is my protector!!
I'm glad that he is my sheild too! He had sheilded me from many things through the years. I know that there had to be some bad stuff headed my way, but God allowed me to be sheilded from them. He had also sheilded me from the world as well. Because of Him I am not in this world getting into a lot of trouble and messing up my life. I thank God for being my protector and sheild!!!
I know that it was not much but I just wanted to put that on here.
Also I know that I have not been on here a lot, I am gonna try to post more on here. I guess that I just got discouraged because I was not getting many comments. I have been reminded though that not everybody comments and that you never know who may be reading your posts. So as of right now......I'm back!!!
Long Time......AGAIN!!!
Sorry everyone! I have not gotten onto the computer as much here lately so there has been no chance of me posting. I have not updated since before my birthday, so it all was good! I enjoyed my 18th very, very much. My aunt took me shopping and bought me a new outfit, fed me, then brought me home. When we arrrived home I jumped out of the car to go inside so I could start the dinner that I always cook on my birthday when.............I opened the door and heard whistles and those little cardboard blow things along with a loud "SURPRISE!".
Needless to say, surprised I was! People had been wispering around for a while, so I knew that something was up. I knew there was gonna be a party, but I did not know when. So yes, I was very, very surprised when I walked though the door and saw family and friends!
I wanted to thank everyone who gave "happy birthday wishes" to me on Momma's site and Jessica's site!!!! Thank Y'all!!!
We had revival last week with Bro. Bobby Barnes and on Friday night we had Bro. Carl Partain preach and his family sing. It was a good week!
Well....I need to get off here now and do the dishes and get ready to go to the bowling center...maybe!! Byes!
